Dr John Hudson

John is a postdoctoral researcher in the group. His work investigates the spin and magneto-optical properties of luminescent radicals, with a particular interest in control of the molecular spin states with light.

John completed his PhD with the SOM group on the 'Design of Radical Materials and Systems Towards Opto-Spintronics' in September 2024, having previously studied Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge (2016-2020). 

Outside of the lab, John is a keen cyclist and enjoys visiting many of the beaches found in the Gower for a swim (if the water isn't too cold!).
